Description

This milepost, located approximately 55 metres south west of Thurston New Houses Farmhouse, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and is painted white with black figures. The milepost has a triangular plan with an open back and features a raised legend indicating distances: 9 miles to Morpeth and 10 miles to Alnwick. It stands at a height of about 0.75 metres.
