Description

The boundary stones located to the south and south-west of Longfield Cottage are park boundary markers dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. They are made of cut sandstone and are rectangular with flat tops, standing between 0.35 and 0.5 metres high. The western stone features an incised 'R' on its west face, while the central stone has an incised 'R' on its north face. The western stone also has a worn incised letter on its east face. The 'R' signifies the Riddell family, who were known for pasturing their racehorses in this area of the park during the early 19th century.
