Description
Hollings Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century that was refronted and extended around 1840. The front is made of coursed stone with tooled ashlar quoins and dressings, while the other walls are constructed of coursed large rubble. It features a stone slate roof. The main part of the house is two storeys high and has three symmetrical bays. The central entrance has a renewed door with a 16-pane sash window above it. The flanking bays contain 2-light mullioned windows with 12-pane sashes below and 16-pane sashes above, all set in chamfered surrounds. The gables are coped with moulded kneelers, and there are stone end stacks. To the right, there is a set-back two-storey bay with similar window styles, a coped gable with moulded kneelers, and a stone end stack that has been heightened in brick. A tall wall with flat coping is located to the far right. There is a 20th-century brick wing at the rear of the house and a 20th-century garage behind the wall, which are not of interest. Inside, the ground floor features old ceiling beams, while the upper floor has a three-bay upper-cruck roof with trusses that include collars, two levels of purlins, and a square-set ridge supported on a saddle.
