Description

Ebchester Old Bridge is a pedestrian bridge dated 1862, as noted on the internal face of the south parapet. The bridge is constructed of rock-faced stone, except for the internal faces of the parapets, which are made of tooled-and-margined stone. It features three semicircular arches with rock-faced and margined arch voussoirs, narrow hump-backed design, triangular cutwaters, and a band below the parapet. The outswept ends of the parapet terminate in rectangular piers. Part of this bridge is located in County Durham.
