Description

This bridge, located approximately 50 yards west of Close House in Heddon-on-the-Wall, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a single high round-headed arch, which is framed by a band of voussoirs. The bridge has a plain parapet with flat coping that sharply flares out at each end, terminating in square piers topped with pyramidal caps.
