Description

The drinking trough and fountain in the stable yard at Heddon-on-the-Wall is a late 18th-century structure made of ashlar and iron. It features a large octagonal trough with iron coping. At the center stands a square pillar that has water spouts shaped like lions' heads on each side. The pillar is topped with a square block cap that has a pyramidal top. Currently, the trough is used as a flower planter.
