Description

This is a bridge over the River Wansbeck, located 150 metres north of Meldon Park Farm. It was built in the 18th century and altered in the 19th century. The bridge is constructed of squared stone and features two elliptical arches, with a central pier that has triangular cutwaters. The parapets have chamfered copings that splay out at the ends, connecting to walls that have shallow gabled coping on either side of the bridge approaches. Additionally, there are later stepped cutwaters on the downstream face of the abutments.
