Description

The Church of St James, a Presbyterian church, was built in 1894 and designed by Hicks and Charlewood between 1884 and 1885. It features a weak Gothic design with five bays and a short polygonal apse. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and includes a large two-stage tower with a corner turret on the southwest side. The church has crudely cusped tracery, with three-light windows featuring pointed arches on the ground floor and four-light windows in rectangular frames on the first floor. The roof is made of slate and has a crested ridge.
