Description
Wylam Signal Box is a signal box built in the late 19th century. It features brick, wood, and cast-iron construction. On either side of the railway line, there are two high brick walls that support an iron frame with two elliptical arches and a trellis-work parapet above. The signal box itself has a panelled wood base, boarded sides, and small-paned windows, with the central section of each window being a horizontal sliding sash. It has a pyramidal roof and an external brick stack on the right return, along with cast-iron stairs at the rear.
