Description

The building is a former workhouse, dating from 1841 and later used as council offices. It is constructed of ashlar stone, arranged over two storeys with a three-window front on each side of a side-lit canted bay. This bay connects via a single-storey, one-window annexe to a taller, single-storey central wing built of rubble stone and featuring three windows. The roof is slate-covered with verges and a hipped section over the bay. The windows are glazing bar sashes, spaced in a pattern of 1-2-bay-2-1.
