Description

The folly ruin, located approximately 60 yards south-west of Capheaton Hall, is a mid-18th century structure, possibly designed by Capability Brown, who was responsible for the gardens at that time. It is constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings. Only the east and north walls remain standing. The east wall reaches gable height and features a large pointed-arched window, topped with a foliated cross finial. The north wall includes a decorative Tudor-style doorway.
