Description
The yard walls and outbuildings to the north of Farnley Farmhouse are likely from the early 19th century and were remodeled in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of rubble with cut dressings and feature Welsh slate roofs. The larger outbuilding, known as Cuckoo Cottage, has a boarded door on the east end and a 16-pane Yorkshire sash window on the north, both set within stop-chamfered surrounds. The building has coped gables with moulded kneelers, a stepped stone stack at the west end, and a ridge louvre with slatted sides topped by a pyramid cap. The attached yard walls have monolithic jambs at the gateways and gabled copings. The north wall connects to a smaller building that has a boarded door at the north end and coped gables with moulded kneelers. This structure is included for its group value.
