Description

Farnley farmhouse is an 18th-century house that was remodelled in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of rubble with roughly-squared quoins and cut dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof with stone slates on the privy. The house has two storeys and three bays. The central entrance has a four-panel door with an overlight. A canted bay is located to the left. Elsewhere, there are four-pane sash windows. All openings are set within stop-chamfered surrounds. The gables have coping and moulded kneelers; the end stacks are stepped and corniced with conjoined panelled shafts. The left return shows a part-slatted larder window and a renewed first-floor casement in an 18th-century alternating-block surround. The right return has an attached privy with a pent roof and a boarded door to the rear.
