Description

The front wall and gateway to Armstrong Cottages, likely built in 1896, is constructed from roughly-squared stone with cut dressings. It features cast-iron piers and a wrought-iron overthrow. The low wall has chamfered coping and was formerly fitted with rails. It includes end piers topped with pyramidal caps and a central entrance flanked by small panelled piers with moulded flat tops. The adjacent gateway has circular piers that support a scrolled round-arched overthrow with a finial.
