Description

TRITLINGTON CAUSEY PARK NZ 19 SE NZ 179949 sundial on lawn 50 metres 6/241 south of Causey Park House (Formerly listed as Sundial 20.10.69 in garden at Causey Park) II Sundial dated 1703. Stone. Block with dials to south, east and west, carrying globe finials and set on a square shaft. The north face of the block bears the Ogle arms, the east is inscribed 'William Ogle 1703'. The west face of the shaft has inscription '12 a cloack at Cassapark Make' followed by a table of times in a number of cities across the world; the south face a series of figures and diagrams headed 'TABLE MOONSHINE'; the north further tables and a calendar with Zodiacal signs; and the east various geometrical figures. The shaft was broken a few years ago by the fall of a tree, and has been repaired with a metal clamp.
