Description

This is a milepost located on the east side of the A 697 in Tritlington, likely dating from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and is painted white and black. The milepost features a shield-shaped plaque that reads "CORNHILL 39 MORPETH 5," which is mounted on a circular shaft. Below this, there is a lower rectangular plaque indicating "W (Wooler) 26." The overall height of the milepost is 0.6 metres.
