Description

The Northumberland Fusiliers' War Memorial Gateway is a late 17th century or early 18th century structure that was originally removed from the White Hart Inn on Fore Street in 1919 and relocated to its current position as a memorial. The gateway is made of stone and features rusticated piers and quoins to the spandrels. It has a moulded impost and architrave surrounding the arch, along with an entablature that includes a pulvinated frieze and a dentil cornice. Above this, there is a segmental pediment.
