Description

The gatepiers and a pair of outbuildings located to the north of Villa Farmhouse date from around 1820. They are constructed from squared stone with cut dressings. The west building has a Welsh slate roof, while the east building is covered with asbestos sheets. The square gatepiers feature bands and low pyramidal caps. On the left, a tall wall with arched coping connects to the garden wall and forms the north end of the east building. On the right is the north end of the west building, which has a renewed window and returned gable coping. Inside the small court created by the gates, the east building has two boarded doors with a 20th-century window between them, which has been inserted into the blocking of a third doorway. The west building has a renewed door set in a reduced cart entrance under a timber lintel, along with a small window and a stepped-and-corniced ridge stack. This structure is included for its group value.
