Description

The garden walls and attached shelter sheds located to the northeast of Villa Farmhouse date from the early 19th century. They are primarily constructed of squared stone, with a section of rubble next to the house. The shelter shed features a Welsh slate roof. The garden is square in shape and partially open to the south. All the walls have flat coping and are generally about 4 metres high. The west wall connects to the northeast corner of the farmhouse, and a section that was once the rear wall of a greenhouse has heating ducts that are now blocked with brick. The north wall includes a 20th-century gateway at the west end and a pent shelter shed, which has an open arcade supported by stone piers and timber lintels at the east end. The east wall has coping that ramps down in the middle and again on a short return to the south, ending in a T-piece that is 1.5 metres high, with further ramp-downs at each end. This structure is included for its group value.
