Description
4-6 Gilesgate is a large house built in the late 18th century, constructed from dressed rubble and significantly altered over time. The building stands three storeys high and features six windows. It has a modern tiled roof with brick chimneys and a coped verge on the left side. The prominent cills are a notable feature, although the glazing has been changed to modern casements. In the center, there are paired doors with recent stonework and joinery details. The rear of No 4 includes a two-storey hipped roof pavilion with one window. This property, along with Nos 2 to 8 and the wall to the Bowling Green, forms a group of buildings of collective significance.
