ACKLINGTON ACKLINGTON VILLAGE NU 20 SW (North side) 7/3 School House GV II

Schoolteacher's house, dated 1852. Snecked stone with tooled quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roof with stack rebuilt in brick. L-plan. Tudor style. Elevation to street 2 storeys, 2 narrow bays, that to right gabled: 2-light mullioned windows, in right bay only at lst floor. Coped gables on moulded kneelers; right end stack rebuilt on old base. 2-bay left return with gabled right bay; right of centre boarded door in chamfered 4-centred arch under shield-shaped datestone with Percy Crescent. Right bay has lst- floor 3-light window, left bay 1st-floor 2-light window in gabled half-dormer. All windows plain sashes in recessed and chamfered surrounds.
