Description
The Village Hall, originally a school, was built in 1857. It features squared rubble construction with cut quoins and dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof. The building has an L-plan layout and a three-bay street front. The windows are squared-headed and consist of one- and two-light designs, with the exception of three stepped lancets located under a panel with a Percy crescent in the taller gabled right end bay. Between the left bays, there is a stepped chimney breast with a truncated stack.
On the left end, a pent porch includes a studded door with fleur-de-lys hinges set beneath a four-centred arch. The gables are coped and supported by moulded kneelers. The right side of the building displays two- and three-light windows, as well as another stepped chimney breast. A truncated bell-cote is positioned at the right end, and there is an attached flat-coped wall to the right that features a decorative wrought-iron gate in a four-centred arch. All windows are 8-pane sashes set in recessed and chamfered surrounds.
There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension set back to the left of the street front, which is not of special interest.
