Description
The Old Vicarage is a vicarage built around 1865, which incorporates some 18th-century fabric in its rear range. The front and left side are constructed from squared tooled stone, while the other walls are made of snecked stone with tooled-and-margined dressings. The building has a Welsh slate roof and is two storeys high with three symmetrical bays. It features a chamfered plinth and raised quoins. The slightly recessed center has a part-glazed four-panel door with a three-pane overlight, all under a moulded cornice. There are 12-pane sash windows with slightly projecting sills. The eaves cornice is stepped and extends over the recessed center, supported by block corbels. The roof is hipped and has two stepped and corniced stacks with panelled shafts. The right return has a two-bay arrangement with paired eight-pane sashes, while the left return features 12-pane sashes and a lower two-bay rear wing on the left. The rear elevation includes an inner return of the wing that shows a re-set doorhead from the former vicarage, inscribed 'Nath; Ellison M.A. Vicar 1765'.
Inside, the interior is largely contemporary and includes a dog-leg stair with turned balusters, four-panel doors, panelled shutters, and cornices. There is also an old range with a set pot in the rear wing.
