Description
The Corn Exchange is a building from 1862 located on the south side of Bondgate Within. It features a two-storey foyer that is set back from the street and accessed by steps. The gable end and foyer are constructed of ashlar stone, with raised quoins and window surrounds on the first floor. There are two large doorways adorned with raised voussoirs and impost mouldings, along with two side doors. The building has a moulded cill string that runs along eight first-floor openings, topped by a moulded cornice and blocking course. At the center of the roof is a small bellcote, flanked by scrolls. Additionally, there is a lower gabled extension at the south end of the building.
