Description
39 Bondgate Within is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of Bondgate Within. It features three storeys and three windows, constructed of ashlar stone, with the ground floor painted. There is a band course above the ground floor and cill strings at the first and second floors. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and a slate roof with two brick chimneys. The windows are plate glass sash types. To the left of the building, there is a doorway with a tram-moulded upper part and a bracketed segmental moulded hood above it. At the rear, there is a long two-storey range. Inside, the first and second floor shutters have fielded panels. A mid-19th-century pedimented feature connects this house with No. 41, featuring a clock above a corbel carved as a wheatsheaf, situated above the alley leading to the Corn Exchange.
