Description
The Globe Inn is an early 19th-century building located on Bondgate Within. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The structure is built of ashlar and has a cill string at the first floor. The roof is slate and includes two brick chimneys. The windows are glazing bar sash style, with shutters on the first floor. On the ground floor, there are two original bow fronted windows, which have been partly restored, along with modern side lights flanking a central doorway. This doorway is accessed by steps with curved railings. The entrance is adorned with reeded pilaster strips and a doorcase, as well as complex oval and lozenge glazing in the rectangular light above. The fascia is detailed with dentils. The building previously had two doors without the side lights, and there is a side door on the right-hand side.
