Description
No. 8 Bondgate Within is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features three windows. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has cill bands and band courses above the ground floor and first floor. The building has a simple eaves cornice and a slate roof, with coped gables supported by kneelers. There are two chimneys at the gable ends. The windows are late glazed sash windows, with one casement on the first floor to the right and a blind window on the ground and first floors to the right. A depressed arch on the ground floor to the right serves as a passageway. The building also displays the Newcastle Fire Insurance Mark No. 3286. At the rear, there is a four-storey annexe with three windows, topped by a catslide roof, along with a further two-storey extension that also has three windows. The rear extensions are made of ashlar and feature glazing bar sash windows.
