Description
Middle Duddo Farmhouse and adjacent outbuildings are a house and farm buildings from the early 18th century, with the main part of the house rebuilt and the west range extended in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick in English Garden Wall bond 1 and 5, featuring cut sandstone lintels and Welsh slate roofs.
The house consists of two sections. The left part is two storeys high with three symmetrical bays, featuring a 20th-century half-glazed door and 12-pane sash windows, all set in original openings. It has banded end stacks, and the returns show outlines of lower gables from an earlier building. The right part, dating from the 18th century, is two low storeys with two bays, a boarded door with a small 6-pane sash window above it, and a 12-pane sash window to the right, all of which have been renewed. There is a tall banded right end stack. The range to the left displays blocked slit vents and various doors and windows with tooled-and-margined lintels, while the left end has a short southward return with a gabled end.
The right return of the house features two small blocked first-floor windows with soldier lintels. To the right is a contemporary northeast range that is two storeys high with three bays, including two boarded doors, one stable door, and a 4-pane casement window above the left door.
The rear elevation of the west range shows an opening for a driveshaft and roof weathering from a former gingang. All gables have raised tumbled-in coping. The later ranges flanking the covered yard to the south of the west range are not of special interest.
