Description

A stone coffin and font bowl are located against the south wall of the Church of St. Mary. These features likely date from the 12th or 13th century and are made of sandstone. The coffin is massive and well-cut, measuring 2.40 meters by 0.88 meters externally. The lower parts of the sides are untooled, suggesting that the upper part was intended to be visible as part of a monument. The plain circular font bowl shows traces of lid fittings, and the incised date of 1521 is likely a later addition, as indicated by the incised 1519 date on a nearby medieval cross slab.
