Description

Bellasies Farmhouse, along with its attached wall and outbuilding, is a house dated 1694, featuring the initials R I on the front door lintel. The rear outshut, outbuilding, and attached wall date from the 18th century, while the rear wing and east extension were added in the late 19th or early 20th century. The building is constructed of large squared stone with cut dressings, while the outshut and outbuildings are made of rubble, and the wing features snecked stone. The roof is primarily covered with Welsh slate, except for the outbuilding and east extension, which have Scottish slates.

The farmhouse is two storeys high with three slightly irregular bays. It has a right-of-centre half-glazed door set in a chamfered surround, and 4-pane sash windows in old openings. There are narrow blocked windows on the far left and far right, with the lower right window partly obscured by a short attached wall that has a boarded garden door and flat coping. The gables are coped and feature moulded kneelers, and the chimney stacks have been rebuilt with a stepped-and-banded design. To the right, there is a single-storey, one-bay extension with a renewed 12-pane sash window and a stepped-and-banded ridge stack. On the left, there is a low outbuilding with an attached privy.

On the rear elevation, there is a 12-pane casement window and a renewed 12-pane sash window in the outshut, along with three boarded doors in the outbuilding. The interior was remodelled in the 19th century and features panelled shutters and a fireplace adorned with nursery tiles.
