Description

Plessey Mill House and the adjacent outbuildings are a house and outbuilding dating from the early 18th century, with the house being heightened in the 19th century and the outbuilding likely built in the later 18th century. The house is constructed of roughly-coursed stone with tooled-and-margined dressings, while the outbuilding is made of coursed rubble. The house has a roof covered in Welsh slates, and the outbuilding has a roof of pantiles.

The house is three storeys tall and has three symmetrical bays. It features a central boarded door flanked by 12-pane sash windows, with a small 8-pane Yorkshire sash window to the far left. The first floor has 12-pane Yorkshire sashes, and above them are 8-pane fixed casements. The right gable of the house has a coped design with a stepped-and-banded end stack.

To the right of the house is a two-storey outbuilding with four irregular bays. It includes a boarded door, two slatted loft windows to the right, and a 6-pane casement to the left. The right gable of the outbuilding displays raised reverse-stepped coping.

The rear elevation of the house features an outshut with a boarded door and two 8-pane Yorkshire sashes above it. The left end of the outbuilding has a pent outshut, with a walled midden alongside.
