Description
This milestone, located 700 metres north of Midrig Bridge, is likely from the 18th century. It is made of cut sandstone and is painted white with a black base and figures. The pillar has a triangular shape with a flat top and features the painted inscriptions "R" for Rothbury and "A" for Alnwick, both indicating a distance of six miles. The overall height of the milestone is 0.65 metres.
