Description
The boundary wall, gate piers, and steps located at the rear (west) and side (north) of the Old Dock Offices were constructed around 1846. This structure features a boundary and retaining wall made of dressed, uncoursed limestone, along with cast iron elements. The east end of the north wall has rounded copings topped with cast iron railings, although the railings are missing from the west end and the west wall. The piers are designed with deep plinths and shallow pyramidal caps. A flight of six steps situated between the gate piers of the west wall leads down to the docks and is flanked by side walls and short end piers. This structure is included for its group value.
