Description
The pigeon cote west of Coatsay Moor Farmhouse is a restored structure, likely dating from the late 18th century. It is built of coursed rubble with stone and brick quoins. The original pantiled roof has been replaced with a wooden glover. The pigeon cote has a tall, narrow square plan and features a low plinth. The lower section has roughly-shaped stone quoins, while the upper section has hand-made brick quoins. There is a mid-wall boarded opening on the south side and a ground-floor doorway on the east side. A projecting brick eaves band runs around the building, and the roof is pyramidal with a flat top. Inside, the upper section is lined with brick and contains nesting boxes.
