Description

No. 42 The Green is a house dating from the early 19th century, with later 19th-century alterations. It features painted pebble-dashed brick and a renewed pantiled roof with roughcast chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. On the left side, there is a four-panel door with an overlight that has patterned glazing, set within a wooden doorcase. To the right, there is a late 19th-century canted bay window. Above, there are two replaced 12-pane sash windows with projecting stone sills. The roof has a stone-coped right gable, and there is a right end stack that rises halfway up the front span of the roof. This house is included for its group value.
