Description
Red House is a house that underwent mid-19th century refronting of an 18th-century structure, which may have originally been two cottages. It is built of Flemish-bond brick and features a renewed pantiled roof with brick chimney stacks. The house has two storeys and three bays. The central door is topped with an overlight that has patterned glazing, set within a wooden doorcase. On either side of the door are canted bay windows with brick bases, projecting stone sills, entablatures, and replaced sash windows framed by pilasters. Above the door is a blank bay flanked by replaced sash windows that have rubbed-brick flat arches and projecting stone sills. The roof has raised brick verges and end stacks with top bands.
