Description

The dovecote and outbuildings located north-west of Trafalgar House date from around 1815 and are now used for storage. They are constructed from dressed and rubble sandstone, featuring roofs made of Welsh slate, pantiles, and concrete tiles, along with a brick chimney stack. The dovecote is square in plan and two stories high, with tooled-and-margined quoins. It has a boarded opening on the first floor, a pyramidal Welsh slate roof, and an octagonal wooden glover topped with a lead-covered ogee cap and vane. There is a boarded door on the rear under a wedge lintel. To the right of the dovecote, there is an L-plan range with two loose-boxes, which have boarded doors, breathers, and a low-pitched pantiled roof with coped gables. To the left, a long single-storey detached outbuilding also features tooled-and-margined quoins and has been altered with various openings. Its low-pitched hipped roof is covered with concrete tiles, and it has a rebuilt ridge stack. The side facing Trafalgar House includes a large vehicle opening, a 16-pane horizontal-sliding sash window, and three tall boarded doors. The outbuilding and loose-boxes are included for their group value.
