Description
The Old Hall is a house that underwent early 19th-century remodelling of an earlier structure. It features roughcast masonry and a roof made of large Welsh slates, with rendered chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has four wide bays. The central entrance has a partly-glazed door set in a raised surround and is sheltered by a later wooden porch with a raking top. The windows, which have moulded surrounds, are set in full-height bays that project slightly. The ground floor has replaced tripartite windows, while the upper floor features replaced 12-pane sash windows. The roof is low-pitched with coped gables and has chimney stacks at both ends and along the ridge. Historically, this was the childhood home of Captain Cumby R.N.
