Description

This is a pair of late 17th or early 18th century houses, originally two properties of three storeys each and three windows wide, later subdivided. Numbers 7 and 8 were formerly listed together with numbers 9 and 10, and numbers 5 and 6 were formerly listed separately. They have stuccoed fronts with raised quoins and a cill band at the second-floor level. Numbers 7 and 8 have a steeply pitched roof recently replaced with modern ridged tiles, along with modern windows and a shop front. Numbers 5 and 6 have sash windows with 8 panes per sash in slightly recessed box frames, and a cornice to the eaves. The windows of numbers 5 and 6 are a northern variant of sash window design. The roof of numbers 5 and 6 is covered with old pantiles, but incorporates three modern dormers. The buildings are now in a single occupancy.
