Description

This is a K6 telephone kiosk located outside number 22 on The Bank in Barnard Castle. It was designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and is made of cast iron. The kiosk has a square shape with a sail-vault roof. Three sides feature margined flat glazing bars, while the rear side is solid iron. The left side has a door. Each side has segmental headed fascias with recessed opaque glass panels, which display the word 'TELEPHONE' beneath unpierced low-relief crowns.
