Description

This is a house, originally one dwelling but now divided into two properties, Musgrave House and Anthorn House. It was dated 1766 above the left-hand door, indicating the year of its construction. The house is built of rendered coursed squared rubble, with the lower courses of squared rubble exposed, and has painted ashlar dressings. The roof is stone-flagged with stone gable copings and chimneys built of rubble and coursed squared stone. The building is three storeys high and has four bays, with windows on the right-hand side of the first bay. There are paired, renewed doors in the third bay, set within plain stone surrounds, the left-hand door bearing the dated lintel from 1766. Most of the windows are plain sash windows, except for three pivoting lights on the top floor, which are set within plain stone surrounds; these top floor windows are nearly square. The roof features moulded kneelers and end chimneys. A small, two-storey rear wing, consisting of two bays with battered and uneven walls, is also present. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
