Description

Ivy House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with large quoins and painted ashlar dressings. The roofs are covered in dark grey asbestos tiles and pantiles, with renewed brick chimneys. The house has an L-shaped layout, featuring a three-bay front and a two-storey, four-bay rear wing. The front has a flushed door with overlight in a panelled surround, topped with a bracketed pediment. The flanking bay windows have segmental-headed lights, and the two first-floor windows have flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills. Chimneys are located at the ends of the front facade. The rear wing shows an altered door, late 19th-century sash windows, and a sliding garage door in the final bay. The building is included on the list for its group value.
