Description
Mill House is a water mill that likely dates from the 18th century and incorporates earlier structures. It is built of sandstone rubble with quoins, featuring a roof of Welsh slate and moss-covered flat concrete tiles, along with brick chimneys. The building has an L-plan layout.
On the north elevation, the structure rises three storeys with three bays on the left and two storeys with two bays on the right, which is situated on higher ground. The fenestration is irregular. The three-storey section includes a two-panelled door in the right bay, which is set under a wooden lintel with wooden jambs. The two-storey section features a boarded door in the centre beneath a stone lintel. There are various window shapes and sizes, each with either wooden or stone lintels. A low blocked opening is located on the left and has a wooden lintel. The roof has a narrow gable at the front on the right end, positioned behind and above the ridge, with brick chimneys on the right return.
Adjacent to the house, a wide stone wall runs parallel to the left return, enclosing the mill race and connected to the house by a footbridge.
