Description
This is a late 18th-century house, later used as a shop. It is built of pecked coursed squared sandstone with ashlar quoins and painted tooled ashlar dressings, the shop front having cast-iron crestings. The roof is covered in stone slates with a stone ridge, stone gable copings, and yellow brick chimneys. The house is three storeys high, with a two-window front.
The projecting shop front has a central half-glazed door and overlight recessed between panelled pilasters, flanked by large four-pane sashes. Stone and glazed green tile stall-risers are present. A full-width fascia and cornice are topped with ornate iron cresting, though this has been removed above the left window and over the door. The other windows are simple sashes in painted stone surrounds. The roof has gable copings resting on cyma-moulded kneelers. A chimney at the left end has a dog-tooth cornice. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
