Description
This is a house located at the rear of No. 7 on Newgate, facing the churchyard. It was built in the late 18th century and has some alterations from the 19th century. The exterior features coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and the right side is rendered. The roof is made of graduated stone slates with a stone ridge and gable copings, along with brick and rendered chimneys. The house has two storeys and a three-window range. There is a central renewed door with a painted surround, and the windows are renewed plain sashes set in plain stone surrounds. The roof has gable copings that rest on cyma moulded kneelers. The left end chimney is rendered, while the right end chimney is made of small irregular bricks with a stone coping. The right side of the house has an oval cast-iron tie-plate attached below the first floor level, and the wall continues to the return of No. 7, Newgate, which this house backs onto. The interior has not been inspected.
