Description

The Old Limekiln, located on the east side of Primrose Gill, is a limekiln likely dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed large rubble and is built into the bankside, featuring rounded ends. The structure has two segmental drawing arches that corbel down to brick-lined eyes, with a steeply battered front wall situated between them. Although the limekiln is substantially complete, it was obscured by vegetation at the time of the survey, and the pot is partly infilled and not accessible.
