Description
Milestone located 200 metres south of Redwing Plantation, likely dating from around 1830 and associated with the London Lead Company. It is made of painted ashlar and stands approximately 0.9 metres high, featuring a slightly chamfered round top. The front is inscribed with "ALSTON 14 MIDDLETON 8" in black Roman capitals, above an incised Ordnance Survey benchmark.
