Description
This is a water pump located north west of Burn Hall, dating from the early 19th century. It features a cast iron pump encased in a coursed squared sandstone column with ashlar dressings. The column stands about 4 metres high and has a blocked square opening on the side facing the River Wear at its base, along with chamfered set-backs. There is some patching in snecked stone on the side facing the path, and a few courses are missing at the top on that side.
