Description
The conservatory located northwest of Burn Hall was built around 1900. It features an ashlar base and a wooden frame supported by iron roof ties, consisting of nine bays. The central three bays include a high gabled porch that leads to a square-domed central tower with curved glass. The porch has elliptical-headed lights, and the bays are defined by fluted pilasters. All windows are fitted with upper glazing bars. The roof has overlapping glass, which remains intact in some areas, and is topped with ball and spike gable finials. A moulded cast-iron gutter cornice adds to its architectural detail. Inside, there are tie-rods on brackets with circles in the spandrels, along with ratchet ventilator controls.
