Description
Westernhope Burn East Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1671 on the lintel, with 20th-century alterations. It is built of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, most of which are painted, and features a stone-flagged roof. The building has two storeys and three wide bays. There is a renewed glazed door on the left, set in a flat-Tudor-arched stone surround that includes the incised date. The 20th-century three-light casements have thin flat stone lintels and slightly projecting stone sills. The low-pitched roof is topped with three ridge chimneys. Inside, there is a flat-Tudor-arched stone door surround leading to the main ground-floor room, and heavy ceiling beams with stop-chamfered run-out stops.
